The Old Fishing Store is a nice little shop in the quite Sea Village. Run and owned by Anton this bait shop houses many great tools for fishermen and sailors of all shapes and sizes! -Bennett McKinney “Visit the beachside Old Fishing Store, featuring a shop packed with fishing-themed elements, and a connected watchtower with a 360-degree viewing balcony and office on the lower level. Ideal for display and role-play, this model has 2 removable roofs, an opening back wall in the shop for easy access, 4 minifigures, cat and 3 seagull figures, as well as loads of other cool details and elements to fire up the imagination.” -Lego.Com This New Ideas Set is Killer! The massive ideas set comes in at $149.99 US, and a stunning 2,049 pieces. The detailed interior includes intricate details that would be expected in any fishing store, and the exterior is amazing. A perfect use of the sea green tiles to give the appearance of wooden boards gives this set a realistic look. The roof over the main store is removable and the details on it make it look like it really has survived some storms. The back wall of the store opens up to reveal the inside along with the ability to take the roof off which makes it optimal for photos and play time. The top half of the tower is detachable to reveal an office for Anton him self. the top part of the tower has a viewing deck which is ideal for any minifigure to catch the sunset on the beach. Asode from the main building the details around the 32x32 sand colored baseplate are amazing. The use of 1x1 round bricks to make piles for the docks and gray and dark gray slopes and tiles for a rocky outcrop make this look like a real beach. Under part of the dock a repeated module was used to show raised up sections with “retrofit” sections of stilts make it ready for any hurricane or high tide that may come ashore. This store also features lots of printed pieces including tons of wooden boards, some little boxes of hooks (1x2 tiles), a window pane, and even a sign that says “Anton’s Bait Shop”. Along with printed tiles this set has some interesting stickers. Including: an “Open” sign on one door, a “Gone Fishing” sign on another, and even a “Boat Rentals” sign. This set includes 4 minifigures, 3 seagulls, a cat, some fish, some lobsters, and a couple crabs. All in all I was extremely happy with this set especially with the high price, and hope we see more from the creator Robert Bontenbal. I took some time and contacted Mr. Bontenbal and gave him a little interview. Q: When did you start playing with Lego? And what was your first set?
I started at a young age playing with Lego, I still have some Lego from those days and my first firetruck #336 Q: What inspired you to create your own models? I have a passion for fishing and architecture so combine these two together and the Sea front Village was born. Q: What (specifically) inspired you to create the Old Fishing Store? I guess the sketches and the models I had build give me the inspiration to create the Old Fishing Store. Q: You have some other MOCs on Lego Ideas, and are now tied for the most ideas to reach 10K supporters, how do you feel about this? I am honored to see that my work is liked and appreciated that gives me a great feel. Q: Which building out of the Sea Village is your favorite? The Ice Factory House and the Lighthouse are special and the Old Fishing Store but the Boat Repair Shop I like myself lots of details and you can dream that you are repairing the boats your self. Q: Will you continue to make models and putting them on Lego Ideas? I am still expanding the Village and we will have to see in the future if I will submit some more projects of the Sea Front Village to Lego Ideas. Q: If Lego were to offer, would you consider a job with the Lego Group? If I can stay in Holland? but I have a nice job and my wife also and children to school. But the question is not ask yet!

Holy Lego Sets, Batman! Check it out as we take a look into some of my favorite new Lego Batman Movie Sets. With an all new Lego Movie comes tons of new sets. And with 40-50 something minifigures. (Including all Batmen, Batgirls, Robins, etc) we have lots to love. So here are a few of my favorites. Arkham AsylumWhat's not to love? With 12 minifigures and a new Arkham Asylum, this set is awesome. Priced at $149.99 US, I'd say it's fair. My only recommendation is, if you are getting it make sure you have, maybe, $180 so you have some cash left over. I personally have this one and it's great for pictures and more. Still need to see how useful it is for stop motion. BatcaveAnother set that I own, the batcave is amazing! 7 minifigures and 2 penguins this set provides a lot. Although $99.99 US seems a lot, it's worth it. (Plus you can always go to Walmart and get it for $88.95) Lol. I love the simplicity, yet awesome build and design. And the quick change Batman thing is awesome for funny stop motions. Definitely a 9.5/10 The ScuttlerWhile I don't have this set, it's just so freaking awesome. The description claims: "The words Forward and Backward are not in the Scuttler's vocabulary" and it really looks like it. This set comes with 6 figures, 4 of which are new. I love the Robin in tuxedo, Barbara Gordon in swat gear, and most of all the NEW Poison Ivy. This set provides with yet another one of Batman's many vehicles, and a cool one too. Priced at $79.99 US I can't comment on the fairness of price until I get it. Clay-FaceAnother one I don't have, but this one is great too. It provides us with another build able figure, kinda like giANT Man. (I can definitely see some sort of fight between these two. Priced at $34.99 US I would say it's decent. You do get the build able figure, and two figures, one of which is new. But seriously Lego? Why not just thirty dollars instead of thirty five? Ahh whatever, I am still going to buy it for the Mayor. Joker Balloon EscapeLast but definitely not least, comes the small but useful Joker Balloon Escape. This little set gives us a new piece for joker and is more commonly know. Due to it's appearance in the trailer. $14.99 US is a great price for this little thing, and I love the Joker's Coat Tails. Can't wait to see how this works for photos and stop motion, but looking forward to it. So, which is your favorite? Comment below. Make sure to stay tuned for more as we talk about the new minifigure series, and a new theme coming Spring 2017. And of course much, much more.
